A little
information about waves are formed -
The air above us is filled with
areas of high and low pressure, which is constantly
colliding. When high pressure air flows into low
pressure areas, the result is wind. Wind blows
across water surfaces and creates ripples which can
increase the air’s resistance to water and
eventually creating waves. The stronger the air
pressure, the greater the wave. Waves are thus
created when wind transfers its energy from the air
to the water.
Big waves are created by the strength,
duration and distance of the wind. If any of these
three elements is compromised, the waves will not
have as much energy need to create waves. For more

Runoff is Ugly
- it’s the excess water that carries pollutants
directly into storm drains which carry water out to sea.
Runoff can contain such pollutants as motor oil,
gasoline, soap from car washes, trash, cigarette butts,
leaves and plants. Runoff also contains copper & zinc
from car brake linings, pesticides, & fertilizers.
